Finally, what I was waiting for has happened, numbers from web analytics outfit comScore have confirmed that people (yes you) are bored of social networks. The average length of time users spend on websites like MySpace and Facebook is taking double-digit percentage hits in the last months of 2007.

I’ve never been a real fan of those social networking sites, bu millions of others were, so out of respect I followed (aliitle). However, what I predicted has happened:

  • You join
  • accumulate dozens of semi-friends
  • spy on a few ex-girlfiends (or boyfriends) for a bit
  • play some dum games
  • get bored
  • then get on with your life, occasionally dropping in to respond to a message or see some photos that have been posted

For those who live in the past; an explanation about social networks below…

Banks in Belgium have taken consumer seduction to a next level. While Citibank is currently in the market with a 6% time deposit account campaign telling us the high rate is a better reason to come to them than the deep blue eyes of the financial advisor behind the desk, Centea Bank has unleashed below video on us since end December. Doing more is in their nature … I’ll never send my wife to Centea Bank for a withdrawal …

  • 25 million songs for free??

With the launching of Qtrax last night, the music industry is all over the news again. Qtrax claims to be the first peer-2-peer site that will provide free legal music downloads. This in exchange of advertising…but ok…who cares. A library of 25 million songs! About 4 times more then the well known iTunes Music Store. Let’s see what happens as it seems not al music labels agreed on the deal. But it would nice…that’s for sure ;)

  • 24.be

Belgian media group Corelio launched their Beta newsportal 24.be this week based on Netvibes. I like the lookNfeel it breathes, but is there room for another RSS aggregator next to the Netvibes and Google Readers of this world?
