QuittersArcade

A very nice campaign by Pfizer!! It can’t be any more viral…

QuittersArcade.com consists of a free set of retro arcade computer games you can embed on your blog or your Facebook profile to challenge your friends. The three games available are all adaptations of well-known arcade games: Pack Man, Fogger and Bin-it!

You have two possibilities to play and share them: visit www.QuittersArcade.com or add the games to your personal blog by a simple copy-paste of a HTML snippet. Players can compete against each other, with a scoreboard for registered users. An “interblog” scoreboard lists the leading blogs and URLs.

In addition to your blog, you can also display the Pack-Man as a widget (application) on your Facebook profile and invite your friends to participate. The end goal is to encourage players to seek help from a doctor, reject smoking and all its paraphernalia and most importantly, to triumph over addiction.

Here is my favorite!

  • Who’s the web’s hottest blogger?

…Vote now and we’ll ask her to pose for Playboy.com. That’s all it says.

I don’t want to make our posts to sexual related, first the belgium boobs and now this :-) But this is a very nice example of blog marketing I must say. You get attention in the blogosphere (as it’s mainly bloggers that will vote and write about it) which makes your campaign also very viral and at the same time your visitors can interact with the result.

    Check it out here

  • 2008 hot trends

If you have missed the 2008 hot trends, you can find them on Read/Write Web.
What I have noticed is that Mobile is in the list again, I have seen that a few times in there before but it never lifted off like it should (to me). Let’s see what it brings this year…

  • Wantz.it

We can’t miss this one! Crusty built his own Web2.Oooh thingy :-)

Whats the best part about Christmas? Making Christmas lists not?? Well Wantz.it does it for you and it’s never been that easy. It leverages your Del.icio.us account to build up your wish list. Any bookmarks you submit to Del.icio.us with a dowant tag will be automatically added to your Wantz.it account. Simple.

Wantz.it itself is pretty cool, but the member pages end up looking like redzie.wantz.it. Easy not?

Nize job Crusty, if you have more idea’s like that…go ahead ;-)

  • Art2Bodrum

Art2blog is going on holidays for 1 week to Bodrum. We’ll be back on October 4th. In mean time don’t stop reading our favourite colleagues. If you still have some holidays planned, check out Fasten Seatbelts where you can find the “Do’s and Don’ts” of the country you’re visiting.

    We will certainly remember that:

    • In Turkey, it is rude to show the sole of your shoe.
    • In Turkey, the OK sign is very rude.
    • In Turkey, in crowded busses (Dolmus), the way to pay for your ticket is to pass the money from passenger to passenger towards the bus driver.
    • In various countries, you may be asked to remove your shoes before entering a home.

  • We moved…

The last few days it has been quiet…well…now you know why. I moved our blog to my own hosting.http://www.art2blog.be is the place to be now…I’ll make some more changes the coming days on the design but all credits go to Design Disease which created this great 3 column wordpress theme. Furthermore you don’t have to change your rss feed address, that stayed the same (http://feeds.feedburner.com/art2blog)!

    Hope you enjoy…

  • How to Ungoogle Yourself

Do unflattering photos or embarrassing blog postings pop up when someone Googles your name? Or are you concerned about your privacy in this new digital age? With Google’s excellent indexing of the Internet, the reality is that friends, family members and employers can find out more information about you than you potentially want them to, just by “Googling” your full name. This site shows a few ways of getting out of this situation.

  • Facebook surfers cost their bosses billions

facebook.jpgThis article shows that Australian workers who keep a close watch on their Facebook profile page were costing their employers up to A$5 billion ($4 billion) a year. Crazy figures if you ask me…
At the other hand they don’t want to cut access as the site encouraged socializing, which in turn made people happier to work longer hours.

Funny to see what ONLY one tool like Facebook generates. Can you imagine what all social, web2.0, IM tools (Twitter, Linkedin, Pownce , Blogs, MSN, Wiki’s…) together cost to your bosses. Would sure love to see a report of that :-)

  • Attention: Ignore Quechup Invites!

Received several mails from contacts to join their social network on the Quechup site. Ignore these! Don’t know what the final plan is, but once you register the engine behind the site proposes to import online contacts from your webmail account like Hotmail, Gmail, … once imported all these get a mail from you inviting to join Quechup again. Pure spam with hopefully no other harmful intentions (viruses?) behind.
