Today Nieuwsblad.be released a mobile version of their website. What’s really cool about it is the live sport, regional news and events calendar. The live sport gives you sport news while it happens, pretty nice when you are at a soccer game and want to know what happens at another one. The events calendar is another nice feature that gives you all local events based on some search criteria. If you’re at a pub and don’t know what to do next, this feature will tell you in sec the events nearby.
You should try it out on http://m.nieuwsblad.be or send a free SMS NB to 8080 (only belgium)

What a joke!! It couldn’t get any worse with the iPhone coming out half year later in Belgium after the real release and on top choosing Mobistar as provider. Now Mobistar canceled their press release yesterday without a real reason. Steve, maybe it’s better to wait until the new 3G version comes out (next week)? Or do we have to wait another year for that one as well over here?

If you have missed the 2008 hot trends, you can find them on Read/Write Web.
What I have noticed is that Mobile is in the list again, I have seen that a few times in there before but it never lifted off like it should (to me). Let’s see what it brings this year…

Beam it up Scotty is a service that let’s you send any file to your mobile phone. Very handy if you want to transfer nice backgrounds, ringtones or images to you phone without using any cables or if you want to send an excel file to somebody.
The service is free, only keep in mind that the mobile provider asks a fee to download files…

Art2blog is going on holidays for 1 week to Bodrum. We’ll be back on October 4th. In mean time don’t stop reading our favourite colleagues. If you still have some holidays planned, check out Fasten Seatbelts where you can find the “Do’s and Don’ts” of the country you’re visiting.
We will certainly remember that:

Save phone number “070222230″ in your cell phone address book under contact name “A blind call“. That way, next time when you forget to lock your cell phone’s key board, it starts dialing this number from your trouser pocket. The number automatically terminates the call after 30 seconds and you have donated 0,75 euro to the Belgian braille association.
Much better then donating all the money of those blind calls to your mobile operator’s shareholders …

The last few days it has been quiet…well…now you know why. I moved our blog to my own hosting.http://www.art2blog.be is the place to be now…I’ll make some more changes the coming days on the design but all credits go to Design Disease which created this great 3 column wordpress theme. Furthermore you don’t have to change your rss feed address, that stayed the same (http://feeds.feedburner.com/art2blog)!
Hope you enjoy…

Received several mails from contacts to join their social network on the Quechup site. Ignore these! Don’t know what the final plan is, but once you register the engine behind the site proposes to import online contacts from your webmail account like Hotmail, Gmail, … once imported all these get a mail from you inviting to join Quechup again. Pure spam with hopefully no other harmful intentions (viruses?) behind.
